Projektet syftar till att lyfta fram urfolks landbaserade expertise och innovation tillsammans med diskussioner om visioner för ett välfärdssamhälle som inte är beroende av fossila bränslen ‚Äì parallellt med respekt för urfolks relationer med land, vatten, människor och andra levande varelser. Vi kommer att utveckla kurser med dessa perspektiv inom högre utbildning.Placerat vid Uppsala universitet, Centrum för mångvetenskaplig forskning om rasism (CEMFOR) och ‚Äúurfolksforskning‚Äù ‚Äì i samarbete med Centrum för miljö och utvecklingsstudier, CEMUS, vid UU o SLU, samt med universitet i Kanada, USA, Australien, och urfolkssamhällen utgör detta forskningsprojekt del av pågående ansträngningar från urfolksforskare och allierade, kunskapsbärare, vetenskapskvinnor/män, förändringsskapare och ledare att etablera ett fält som stödjer urfolks bidrag till en förändring bort från ett fossilberoende samhälle, och för att främja tekniska innovationer och samhällelig infrastruktur som respekterar urfolks land- och vatten baserade relationer.Geografiskt fokus är på den svenska sidan av Sápmi och erfarenhetsutbyte sker andra urfolksterritorier.Projektet bygger på tidigare projekt; FORMAS framtidens forskningsledare, Säkra och hållbara energiframtider i Sápmi; Urfolks klimatstudier; SEEDBOX: an Environmental Humanities Collaboratory och EU FP7 projektet Networking for Communications Challenged Communities (N4C) Architecture, Test Beds and Innovative Alliances.
Abstract [en]
The project aims at bringing forth Indigenous peoples’ Land Based expertise and innovation along with discussions on visions of a welfare society independent of fossil fuels, while respecting and promoting Indigenous peoples’ relations with lands, waters, humans and non-humans. Courses will be developed with within higher education.Placed at Uppsala Univ, the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research on Racism (CEMFOR) ‚ÄìIndigenous Studies - ¬†in collaboration with the education the Centre for Environment and Development Studies (CEMUS) UU and SLU, with universities in Canada, US, Australia and Indigenous communities this research project forms part of ongoing efforts by Indigenous and allied scholars, knowledge keepers, scientists, learners, change-makers, and leaders to establish a field to support Indigenous peoples’ contributions to the change from a fossil fuel dependent society and to promote technical innovations and societal infrastructures respecting Indigenous land and water based relationships.The geographical focus is on the Swedish side of Sápmi, making comparisons with and learning from experiences in other Indigenous peoples territories.We draw on several earlier research projects, amongst other: EU FP7¬†Networking for Communications Challenged Communities (N4C);¬†Seed Box: An Environmental Humanities Collaboratory;¬†Safe and sustainable energy futures in Sápmi¬†and¬†Indigenous Climate Change Studies,¬†within the National research program on climate.
