Interbedömarreliabilitet av rörelsekontrolltester för nacke och skuldra utförda på professionella violinister och violaster
2016 (svensk)Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 poäng / 30 hpOppgave
Abstract [en]

Background: Professional violin and viola players have a high prevalence of neck and shoulder pain. Sensomotoric disturbances and movement dysfunctions can both increase the risk of having neck and shoulder pain as well as the duration and risk of relapse. This type of tests has been helpful in assessment and treatment of low back pain, but the knowledge of the benefits in neck and shoulder pain are unknown. The aim of the study is to investigate the inter- tester reliability in violin and viola musicians. Methods: 20 professional viola/violin players where examined at the same time by two physiotherapist, specialized in Manual Therapy, by using visual observations. They performed eight Movement control test, dissociation test, for the shoulder and neck. Each test where rated as either “Correct” or “Not correct”. Cohens kappacoefficient, 95% confidence interval, percentage agreement and prevalence- and bias index where calculated for each test. Results: The kappa values ranged in from 0,05-0,89. Two tests, ”Overhead armlift” and left ”Armabduction” showed excellent inter-rater reliability (k= 0,81,0,99), “Headturn test” substantial (k=0,61-0,8), “Armflexion” showed good (k=0,41-0,60) and three tests, “Occiput lift”, “Horisontal retraction” and right “Armabduction” showed poor reliability (k=0-0,40). The lower boundary of the 95% CI was relatively low (< 0.4) for all tests except “Headturn”,“Overhead armlift”,and left “Armabduction”. Conclusion: This pilot study shows substantial inter-tester reliability in three out of eight surveyed tests, " Headturn" , " Overhead arm lift" and left " Arm abduction ".
