Abstract [en]

Konfidentiell / Confidential The telecom equipment supplier industry is rapidly moving towards new technologies and services. What is now taking place, is a change of focus from technical products to service solutions. In service solutions, there are often several technical products mixed with different services that form a value adding chain. This change towards service solutions enables the equipment supplier to extend its business offerings and to enhance the customer relationship. However, the management of service solutions is very complex, especially from the equipment supplier's perspective. The objective of this study is to find those factors within service development and delivery that can be classified as critical success factors for achieving business success in the telecom equipment supplier industry.(The major findings of the study are not presented because of confidentiality) Research was conducted mainly though the use of in-depth interviews made with key persons which have knowledge and experience in service solutions within the telecom equipment supplier industry. The presented critical success factors represents the most essential skills, resources and activities that a telecom equipment supplier must excel at to be successful in the marketplace for service solutions.
