This report is the result of a thesis at Bachelor program in Industrial Design Engineering at Luleå University of Technology. The project took place betwee August 26 and November 8, 2013. The project was done for FrankID who thought there were no expandable dining table that can be enlarged with more than double the size and also fit in small spaces. The idea for the table was that it will for both everyday use but also for larger dinners. Prestudy and requirements for the project resulted in a number of different solution concepts and they were evaluated using sketches, mock-ups and simple visualizations. Along with FrankID a concept were elected for further development. Functional models and surface modeling were used in the product development and resulted in a final concept. The result is a basic design of the final concept and it’s presented with illustrations and CAD renderings. It is a dining table where the size can be easily adjusted according to how many guests you have invited, up to 12 persons.
