The idea of a database as a central facility of a programming environment is explored by presenting the TeleSoft/TeleLogic Library Manager (LM), a database aimed at forming the basis for an integrated Ada programming support environment. The abstract takes the Ada program library as a starting point: an Ada Library will constitute an essential part of an Ada programming environment, by acting as a repository for software associated data, collected at least during the development phase.
