Abstract [en]

In the heterogeneous and distributed construction industry the harmonization andconnection between the software tools used is difficult to achieve. Despite of recent and ongoing efforts the interoperability of construction industry’s software has flaws. This paper proposes a group of technologies to be implemented, which in combination and interaction promise advancement in software based collaboration. After summarising the construction industry’s characteristics and the consequent requirements towards software systems we enlist a few existing technologies that form the framework. Thereafter we show how the framework components in combination could address the requirements. We conclude with brief discussion and with proposal for validation.
