Abstract [en]

One of the early, often referenced papers, by Andersson 1, is reviewed. Butt welding of two low carbon steel plates is simulated by using the finite element method (FEM). Good agreement between simulations and experiments were obtained except at the lower side of the plate. Different material modeling alternatives have been used in order to find out the reason for this discrepancy
