Abstract [en]

Young peoples' entry and establishment on the labour market is currently a debated question in Sweden. A number of different policies concerning labour market entry have been launched through the last decades in order to facilitate young peoples' labour market entry and establishment on the labour market. These policies does not seem to have any long standing effect since adolescents and young adult still experience, in comparison with other age groups, huge problems concerning their relation to the labour market (i.e youth unemployment and significant low levels of young adults with regular employment). The aim of this paper is to analyse this process of becoming part of the labour-force in relation to changes of the structural and cultural level as well as through individual preferences. The purpose is to contrast young adults' experiences about their establishment at the labour market with the above description of the Swedish labour market. The research question is in what way labour market policies affect young peoples' establishment at the labour market and how young adults experience the process of labour market and establishment on the labour market. The empirical data consists of interviews conducted with young adults (30-35 year)
