The radiographer's professional role requires expertise both in the ever-evolving technology, but also in nursing . When patients experiences of the examination is taken in considerations this places great demands on the radiographer. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the existing literature describes which part the skills of the radiographer may on a patients experience during the MRI scan. Based on the two issues have knowledge compiled regarding the radiographer skills. The questions were the factors of importance to the patientsexperience of the MRI which the radiographer may influence and how the competence of theradiographer is described in earlier scientific research. The study was carried out as an integrative literature review which is common method in evidence based nursing research. The method is basis for how the selected scientific articles were processed and a total of 14 scientific have been analyzed in this work. The findings of the analysis of the articles were that the patient's experience of MRI might be dependent on the adiographer`s support during the examination and which information was given.There are scientific articles where radiographers describe their professional role and define their professional skills. The comptence could be divided into; meeting with the patient, imaging and technology, experience, communication with the patient and experience of nursing. The conclusion of the study was that the radiographer could affect the patient experience of the examination, but not just competence based on education and technology. A large part depended on nursing aspect; how the radiographer acted near the patient, the manner in which the communication with the patient occurred and how the information was given.
