Abstract [en]
This study investigates disclosures before, during and after acquisitions. Based on the agency- and the signal theory, conducted disclosures were identified, where a qualita- tive approach with associated discourse and ethnographic content analysis has been used to map the disclosure mechanisms and to generate a model for analysis of disclo- sures connected to acquisitions. The study presents results on why disclosures are sent connected to acquisitions, where companies generally seek to reduce asymmetric infor- mation towards their stakeholders, legitimize decisions and to utilize information ad- vantages to create personal benefits. The study contributes to the field of disclosures, where the outcome of acquisitions affects the scope and content of disclosures exhibit.
