Konsulters motivation i bemanningsföretag: En fallstudie på StudentConsulting

Abstract [en]

The employment agencies are since a few years back in a rapid growth and today there is a tough competition in the industry due to the lack of entry barriers, that has resulted in new players constantly entering the market. For organisations to achieve a high efficiency they depend on their employees to perform in line of what is expected. Therefore, they have to understand what motivates their employees in order to ensure the company’s future success. Previous studies have however shown that there are disagreements how to best achieve motivation and therefore is the purpose of this study to describe and analyze the agency workers’ motivation in an employment agency, to thereby gain a greater understanding as to what motivates them. The purpose was clarified by the following research questions; “What approach has the agency managers in employment agencies to motivate agency workers at work?” and “What do the agency workers find motivating at work?” The case study had a qualitative approach and was based on relevant motivation theories and these theories were then compiled in three theses. In order to examine whether the theses could be supported, a number of interviews were performed. The results of the study have shown that there are a number of different ways to affect the agency workers’ motivation, and that non-monetary rewards where considered the most motivating. The results have also shown that the improvement points are security and development.
