2012 (English)Independent thesis Advanced level (professional degree), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

An expressed need for an updated picture of the competition laid the ground for this thesis. While performing a competitor analysis, the case study organization’s business intelligence process was evaluated. The competitor analysis was conducted according to recommendations given in literature. The case study organization’s business intelligence process was mapped and analyzed with the help of benchmarking, after which recommendations on resource economic improvements were given. This study resulted in a practical and a theoretical solution. The practical result is competitor files, together with a place for storage of these. The theoretical solution consists of recommendations on how to further develop business intelligence routines based on the intelligence needs of the organization. There are both smaller and larger measures to be taken leading the case study organization to a better routine of keeping track of its business environment.
