Abstract [en]
My fascination with the creativity of human beings and how it might develop is the catalyst for this study. Some artists seems to have a tougher way to success than others. This discrepance was to me an interesting object of study. If we learn from each other's mistakes as human beings, we might sooner or later find hidden and irrelevant ideas about what to expect from a master artist. For this cause, my exam composition was thoroughly and critically reviewed in order to find errors in thinking, creative limits and mistakes. The sources of all these disabilities were of particular interest. The composition, a longer choral work, had been created with the purpose of both expressing myself and adapting to other styles than my own. My childhood influences (songs, videogame music, pop-rock and contemporary choral music) contributed to a rich material, but also with artistic coices which seemed awkward at a closer look. The resulting findings of the study (the result of my flaws) probably appeared because of an inability to use the correct knowledge at the correct occasion. My analytical hearing skills made me believe in overly complicated artistic ideas, and certain teachings from former tutors were applied at improper places without proper reflection. I conclude that all artists probably are limited from attention- and acknowledgement desires, and that classical composition is easier than it might seem. What is difficult, in my opinion, is to profoundly realise this.
