OS-C, a C Implementation of a Small Real-Time Operating System

Abstract [en]

This master thesis describes our work implementing a real-time operating system. Our goal has been to create a portable operating system functionally similar to assembler-based OSE Basic. A kernel for Linux and for the Motorola 68HC12 microcontroller has been implemented and performance comparisons with existing operating system are presented. Our work shows that it is possible to implement a small, efficient real-time operating system almost entirely in C.
