The portrayal of Christ in "The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis: similarities and differences in comparison with the Bible
2000 (English)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

This essay argues that the Lion Aslan in "The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis is a type of the biblical Christ. The first two chapters display Aslan as a type of 'Christ - The Creator' and 'Christ - The Redeemer'. The two last chapters show the similarities between Aslan and Christ, portrayed as: Son of God: Lord: King of kings: Captain of the Host: Lion of Judah: Justificator: Caller: Rewarder: Judge: Life Giver: Provider: Sanctificator: Victory Banner: Healer: Shepherd: Peace: and Omni-Present.
