Abstract [en]

This report covers the design and implementation of the first ever commercial three-dimensional audio engine – a surround sound system – in Java. As a consequence of the fact that this has never been done before this report not only proves what is possible and how, it also dispatches some of the negative misconceptions about Java that roam the mainstream programmer community.
