Abstract [en]

VoIP is a revolutionary technology, which has become a key topic in both the growing Internet industry and established telecommunications industry. In VoIP technology telephone calls are to be made over computer networks like the Internet where packet switching technique is used instead of circuit switching and analog signals are converted into the digital signals in the real time two-way transmission of conversation. VoIP has become a potential alternative to the existing PSTN technology due to its reduced costs. This study is investigating the adoption of VoIP technology by individual end users and focusing on the reasons that why the adoption of this technology is slower and then how these reasons can be improved or rectified in order to attain the maximum benefits like lower call of cost, lower cost of infrastructure and integration of Data and Voice etc which are associated with this technology. The major causes for the slower adoption of this technology by its individual end users which are identified in this study are also prioritize according to their rank wise.
