Abstract [en]
The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of a user-friendly website and if www.atg.se has managed to attract its target audience. My research question was : Has www.atg.se managed to attract its target audience and making them play more often when it comes to the web page design and usability?For a web page should be useful to a user it must bring value to the user, which the user can benefit from. For a website to be user-friendly it needs to be easy to use. Adapting its website by users can be difficult, because what all target groups have in common is that they are peo-ple and people think and interpret things very differently. Finding something that fits all is difficult, and therefore it is best to specify its audiences to be able to design as user friendly website as possible.The literature review in this paper covers the theory of audience / user and user-friendliness, and theory of graphic design. This frame of reference became the basis for the empirical in-vestigation conducted as a case study. This gave me the opportunity to see if www.atg.se has managed to attract its target audience regarding web page design and usability. The survey results showed that ATG has taken into account their target audience in terms of usability and ease of use for this specific target group, although there were things that the target audience experienced some negatively with the web page.
