Abstract [en]

This essay is a study about the translation from Swedish to English in two of Astrid Lindgren’s books about Pippi Longstocking. The purpose of this study was to see if the translator Marianne Turner has managed to maintain Lindgren’s skills in her playful author style. It contains studies of adaptations, archaic Swedish words, deletions, additions, paraphrases, mistranslations, metaphors, and studies of ambiguity. There are also studies of readability in this essay.
