Engine controller assistant: a fuel injection system used for turbocharged engines
2006 (English)Independent thesis Advanced level (professional degree), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

This thesis was a result of cooperation between Luleå University of Technology and MC Xpress. MC Xpress is a world leading supplier of turbo charging kits for snow mobiles and motorcycles and also performs custom tuning on demand. During development of the Engine Controller Assistant (ECA) the primarily goal was to assist an already available engine controller when a turbo charger is installed on an engine. By adding a turbo charger it is a necessity to make sure that it is running within the limits of what it can handle. Therefore the ECA is equipped with a variety of sensors such as a wideband lambda that can be monitored and logged to help the user to ensure that the engine runs fine. This thesis resulted in a commercial product that will be used and sold by MC Xpress starting from autumn 2006.
