Modelling and rendering with NURBS curves and surfaces

Abstract [en]

The use of NURBS is very widespread nowadays. It is mostly used in computer graphics and modeling. First of all NURBS definitions as well as ways to define some curves and surfaces are dealt with to get a basic understanding of the subject. To be able to show a NURBS surface on a computer screen it is useful to approximate the surface with polygons. Some old triangulation routines are presented as well as a new one and some results. The last part of the report is about some C++ classes that were created to implement NURBS curves and surfaces on a computer.
