The purpose of this thesis was to find out young people's attitudes to maintain speed in traffic. Previous research has shown that men usually have a higher risk in traffic and are more of-ten involved in fatal accidents through their risky driving behavior. Through semi-structured interviews, five women and four men in the ages of 17-25 were targeted, the following ques-tions were posed: What are young people's attitudes to keeping the speed limits in traffic, are there factors that influence attitudes towards keeping the speed limit and what atti-tudes exist among young men and women? The results show that the male interviewees in this thesis showed a strong faith in their own ability, whereas the women showed the oppo-site behavior. Perhaps the most interesting result was that young people consider it less risky to drive too fast in the nights.
