The purpose of this thesis was to examine the employee’s perception of their psychosocial work environment in an operator environment, where a security company provides recommendations for improvements. Questions to be answered were: How do the employees experience the psychosocial work environment? What can the organization do to improve the psychosocial work environment for the employees? The study was conducted on behalf of a security company located in Sweden, by means of a questionnaire survey. All ten employees of the department responded to the survey and five of them were interviewed. The results showed that there were specific improvements that the company can do to achieve greater satisfaction with the work environment among employees. Examples of improvements that can be done are to increase the employee’s participation in, and influence on, job design, expand the flow of information to employees, and meet the needs for skill development.
