The aim of the study was to compile and describe occupational therapy interventions and their effects on vocational rehabilitation. The data was collected from research in scientific databases. The selection was based on the inclusion- and exclusion criteria. The articles were examined and analyzed in concurrence with Friberg (2012). The study showed that occupational therapists within vocational rehabilitation used interventions to enable work returns. Compensating interventions like teaching strategies and adapting the environment are common and occupational therapists also use group interventions, IPS and functional physical and mental training. According to the results of the study occupational therapy interventions in vocational rehabilitation facilitates and enables peoples work returns. The workers experienced increased self-esteem and confidence after participation in occupational interventions. The authors made to the conclusion that regardless of where in the world the study was made, occupational therapy interventions are quite similar. The authors found that more research on the subject is needed in order to describe the occupational therapy interventions used in vocational rehabilitation.
