Automatic personalization based on neural networks: studies of artificial neural networks as a conceivable solution for customized DAB
2001 (English)Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

During the last decade, digital audio broadcasting (DAB) has been introduced all over Europe. It is a system that provides interference-free reception of high-quality audio services. The introduction of DAB has revealed a large number of diverse radio stations, which makes it difficult for listeners to find programs that match their interests. It has become a practical limitation in applying this technological development. In the thesis, a theoretical model is presented, based on artificial neural networks. The result indicates that the theoretical model is a possible solution that helps radio listeners to navigate through the plethora of programs.
