Abstract [en]

The aim of the thesis was to verify the accuracy of the hand-calculated charts for lime-cementcolumns and how they stand up against today`s calculations in the program Slope/W. The graphs are also going to be digitalized to facilitate the overall design of lime-cement column reinforcement.The work has been carried out by four chosen examples that have been selected from the hand-calculated charts and then have calculations in the program Slope/W been made to verify the accuracy and the percentage difference between the methods. In addition to the comparison of c-analysis and digitizing it has a schematic diagram to facilitate calculations oflime-cement column reinforcement for cΦ-analysis created. This has been created to complement the hand-calculated chart and can be used for general design of lime-cement column reinforcement. The results of the comparison between the estimated hand chart and calculations performed in Slope/W shows the hand calculated c-analysis stands up well in comparison with the calculations that are made in Slope/W. The margin of error was greatest 16,1 % and least 2,7%.Control has also been designated to calculations in Slope/W with combined analysis (cΦ-analysis), it shows that at low values of the shear strength of the clay, giving an optimistic sizing of the pillar distance in the hand-calculated chart.The conclusions is that the overall design of lime-cement column reinforcement is that you are welcome to use the hand-calculated graph for c-analysis and in combination with the chart created for cΦ-analysis to get a picture of which columnar pattern that can be used and what distances between the columns that is possible.
