Today’s society is very focused around technology and something that is very popular is the usage of mobile devices such as Smartphones or Tablet computers. One of the reasons why these devices are so popular, is because of the large amounts of services or ‘apps’ that they can provide for the user. They can do a lot of things that makes everyday living easier for the users.The focus of this study is to find out what kinds of mobile services the users of these devices are expecting and/or wishes to see in the future and what is required to be able to develop and use these services in a good way.We started of the study by searching for earlier studies on the same or similar subjects. With this information along with the materials we gathered for the theories we used in the theory part of the essay, we started to create the interview template. We decided to create the template in a way that would get the respondents into an environment that allowed them to think of new services, which obviously requires quite a bit of creativity. After the interviews were done we compiled them and took out the information we needed to complete the essay. To make it easier we also categorized the services into four different groups. Entertainment, High Security, communication and servies that makes everyday living easier.The users of mobile devices seem to think that services that makes everyday living easier is the most important kind in the future. Another thing that a lot of users talk about is the High Security services, like replacing a wallet by your phone for example, but most users are very concerned with the security when it comes to these kind of services. Most seem to think that it’s a good idea if it can be done with good security though.Overall, it seems that the services users wants are for trivial things, that’s not necessary but rather just makes it easier in everyday life. In an extension the users would also like to see services that could help save lives or help improve personal security, which would be classed as High Security services, since these need to work at all times. An error could cause big problems.Most of the users also seems to think that the mobile devices are here to stay and that their usage will continue to increase along with the development of new technology, and that the services will become better and more advanced.
