Abstract [en]

In a near future the use of mobile devices will have increased several times from the present use. Smaller and faster mobile devices, combined with application and faster Internet connections will be a key to this. With this new features new types of application will be developed. The Alipes project at Luleå University of Technology is researching and developing a platform for context-aware applications. A context-aware application needs a real life position to handle certain events. This thesis will look at the possibilities to create a context-aware game, using the Alipes platform. The game is a prototype of how this platform could be used. The resulting game is called Thiefs. The prototype is developed in Java and for a Compaq iPaq series. The game is not bounded to a Compaq iPaq since Java is platform independed.
