Planning rules for Telia's loop plant: with focus on coexistence
2000 (English)Independent thesis Advanced level (professional degree), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

This thesis discusses planning rules for a copper loop plant: from a spectrum analysis perspective. The purpose is to propose planning rules for Telia's loop plant that can be used in the field. To do this, models of the different modems and the loop plant were made. The models were implemented in a simulator made in the MATLAB environment. The simulator was verified in a controlled lab environment to estimate the error of the result. Three different scenarios were proposed to maximise the utilisation of the loop plant in various environments. These scenarios were residential, industry and a mix of these two. The recommended rules are on a ten pair level to simplify the usage of the rules. The verification of the simulator resulted in the conclusion that the simulator errors were small enough to guarantee accuracy of the results.
