Perfecting the Groove when the Client is Not in the Room: Communication and Miscommunication Between Mixing Engineers and Clients
2016 (English)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

This study investigates the differences when discussing groove and mixing in distance collaborations. Two case studies were conducted, one based on a questionnaire and one based on interviews with musicians and engineers. Several interesting ideas are presented, and there are tips and strategies for overcoming problems in distance collaborations cited by professionals. The study concludes that although groove is seldom discussed in a mixing situation by neither musician nor engineer, engineers seems more familiar with discussing it.
