Abstract [en]

This work has been conducted at the company Outotec in Skellefteå. The background to this work is that there is a casting wheel with eight molds on Rönnskär that does not match the demand in the market any longer because of its size and limitations. The possible casting wheel that can be suitable for the market can be a casting wheel with a capacity of 22 molds and therefore this thesis is about developing the casting wheel to 22 molds. Analysis of empirical data and a study visit on Rönnskär gave an idea of a real machine in operation and its disadvantages. During the development period disadvantages have reduced on the existing machine to the possible machine. In this work the FEM analysis in SolidWorks is used for calculation of strength. The result of developments gave a ready designed machine with manufacturing drawings.
