The overall purpose of this investigation was to study dance as a tool for learning. The study focuses on the importance of dance for the learning of mathematics and teachers’ and students’ ideas about dance mathematics. In this study we have conducted interviews with students and teachers that work with dance mathematics. We have read relevant literature related to mathematics and learning, aesthetic learning processes and dance as a tool for learning. Some of the interviews were conducted in a school that works with dance mathematics and some by phone and e-mail. Interviews with students show that almost all students think that dance mathematics is a good medium for learning in mathematics – students believe they learn more easily by using their body.
