2012 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

As today’s society is moving towards greater information technology integration it’s created a demand for the citizens to be able to identify themselves in the digital world. Critical services as changing their living address, banking and tax handling have been introduced into the digital world as a viable and cost-efficient measure for companies are looking to generate higher profits based on the chosen solutions, and a secure procedure to identify users are therefore an important improvement for the future services over the wire. It’s not just the identification itself that is crucial for the process, but also how an identity can be verified in a way that it really is the right person that hides behind the electronic identity. With this as base the report sets out to shed light on the subject, and answer the question regarding if there are any usability related issues with the current e-identity.To be able to answer the research question, as well as fulfill the objectives set out, a deductive approach will be used in the thesis. This approach is done using a survey with both quantitative as well as qualitative questions and it will all result in the research question being answered.
