Statistical low power BDD based multi level synthesis

Abstract [en]

Low power synthesis is receiving increasing attention as the number of hand-held and mobile electronic devices increases. Promising methods for using BDDs for synthesis as well as for power optimizations have been developed. In this thesis a method for low power multi level synthesis using BDDs is presented. The method presented combines two existing methods. One is for decomposing BDDs to standard gates, the other is used to estimate and minimize the power dissipation. The method for power estimation and minimization uses statistical properties of the input signals.
