Optimize transparency of reused mixed material in multilayer polymer structures

Abstract [en]

This investiagation deals with the use of "regrind" material in a multilayer polymer structure. This regrind is a blend of Polypropylene, EVOH and an Adhesive. The Polypropylene is the matrix, the EVOH is dispersed in small particles and the Adhesive should act as a compatibilizer. As EVOH has a different refractive index than Polypropylene, it is responsible of light scattering and that is one major reason for high haze of polymer multilayer structures. The aim of this work was to decrease haze of the regrind layer by changing process settings and adding new materials in the regrind.
