The father, son and the golden gun: the development of the relationship between James Bond and M
2001 (English)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

This study aims to analyse and describe the development of the relationship between James Bond and his boss, Sir Miles Messervy - M. The study is based on the literary depiction of the characters, as they have been portrayed in the James Bond novels. Two other studies together with some articles have constituted the necessary secondary sources. The relationship, which spans over fifty years, is initially strictly professional. However, due to certain events and factors, their relationship is concluded in 1996 with a striking likeness to the relationship between a father and a son.
