Surface electromyography utilizing a direct digitization method

Abstract [en]

The purpose of the thesis was to design and build an EMG measuring device that utilizes a switch capacitor block to sample the signal directly at the inputs and then perform a voltage to frequency conversion. The measured signal is then represented unprocessed with a robust digital signal that can be transmitted to a signal processor for filtering and processing. The signal processor and its communication are simulated using a computer-aided tool, Matlab, in order to verify the theoretical aspects of the handling of the signal.
