Green’s method applied to beam and plate bending theory.
1989 (English)Student paper other, 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

This thesis for the degree of Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering deals with the solution of the linear differential equations appearing in beam and plate bending problems in solid mechanics. The differential equations are studied by means of GREEN's function technique and the aim of the thesis is to examine whether this method can be a complement or an alternative to conventional methods. This paper has been divided into two chapters; the first chapter considers the beam equation and the second the plate equation.
