Agile development methods are a collection of a variety of development methods that are becoming increasingly more common. These methods have proved to be more efficient than the classical development methods and more companies and organizations are switching to agile work processes.The study was implemented to improve the situation in an IT project at a company. The company has previously not worked with IT projects and it was missing the knowledge needed for the project to succeed. Based on the survey of the work processes, various agile development methods were examined that were the most suitable for the development of the IT project. The methods that were implemented were needed to be adapted to the IT project and the organization's conditions. The study's methodology followed the action research principles and the data collected were of the qualitative type. The data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews. The results showed that implementation of agile development methods had a positive impact on the involved and on the IT project.

Agila utvecklingsmetoder är en samling olika utvecklingsmetoder som blir all vanligare. Dessa metoder har visat sig vara mer effektiva än de klassiska utvecklingsmetoderna och fler företag och organisationer ställer om till agila arbetsprocesser. Studien genomfördes för att förbättra situationen i ett IT-projekt hos ett företag. Företaget har tidigare inte arbetat med IT-projekt och därför saknades den kunskap som behövdes för att projektet skulle lyckas. Baserat på kartläggningen av arbetsprocesserna granskades olika agila utvecklingsmetoder som ansågs lämpligast för IT-projektets utveckling. De metoder som implementerades behövde anpassas efter IT-projektet och organisationens förutsättningar. Studiens metodik följde aktionsforskningsprinciperna och den datan som samlades in var av den kvalitativa typen. Datainsamlingen genomfördes med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultaten visade att implementering av agila utvecklingsmetoder hade en positiv inverkan på såväl de involverade som på IT-projektet.
