This report is the result of a master thesis project carried out at SAAB Aeronautics. The aim of the work was to map the flow of the production data within the producing workshops with a focus on the data's adaptation to the daily planning of the business. The results were analyzed on the basis of differences and similarities between the three different workshop sections that were mapped. The mapping and analysis formed the basis for proposals for future solutions that can facilitate the work with daily planning.
The mapping was conducted by interviewing workshop staff, production planners, production technicians and designers. The results of the interviews were supplemented with material from the various support systems used in the production process.
Three different solutions with different time horizons and workshops were presented as a result of the mapping and analysis. The first solution has a short time horizon and is based on developing a program that can divide the production base and plan a daily schedule for the assembly of hull details. The second solution proposal, like the first, has a short time horizon and is based on giving already existing programs for daily planning the right conditions within the workshop for system installation. The final solution has a longer time horizon where requirements have been identified that need to be taken into account when a new project is to begin development.
