This essay deals with how teachers can make use of popular culture expressions in history teaching so that students can take part in various media expressions of historical consciousness and use of history. This will also be justified through the Swedish National Agency for Education. The popular cultural media chosen for the essay are the following; Outlander, Vikings, The Emigrants, Forrest Gump, Anne Frank's Diary and Kvinnokungen. What the essay wants to see is whether teachers can convey these media expressions to students in a meritorious way so that they learn about these concepts in history teaching.
