    Major changes have occurred within the construction industry in Sweden,the industrialization of society has led to more and more people movinginto the cities, which in turn has led to an increased need for housing.Recently, demands for productivity, more efficient material managementand CAD design have increased, which has resulted in additionalprefabrication of a growing number of construction and installationcomponents. This in turn has led to a new industrial construction withlarger variation possibilities have been developed.This master’s thesis is rendered for Lundqvist Trävaru AB, which is a smallfamily‐owned industrial company which manufactures exterior wallelements made of wood, but who wants to increase their turnover andcompetitiveness, by also producing larger wall elements that are morecomplete. The aim of this work is to, in collaboration with LundqvistTrävaru, develop a wall element system for modular building of holidayhouses. The goal is to design a number of wall elements that customerscan then put together in any way to obtain a complete building.From studying a number of holiday house manufactures in Sweden andthe company’s main competitors, a number of common and attractivearchitectural features have been compiled. These have, together with thecompany’s wishes, been the basis for the production of wall elements forthe wall element system.A total of 40 pieces of wall elements in four different sizes have beendeveloped. In addition to the wall elements appearance in size, windowand door placements, the elements structure have also been determined,the U‐value and material consumption calculated and beam drawings forthe various wall elements been constructed. A number of possible floor plans have also been drawn up and instructions on how the elements areassembled, connected and how corners are created have been established.The conclusions drawn are that this wall element system is flexible so thatmany different floor plans can be produced. The module dimensions werechosen based on Lundqvist Trävarus requests to fit into their existingsystems and they also fit the dimensions of many of the furnishings andthe fixed fittings that are sold today, which makes it easier to get a goodarchitectural design of the floor plan to the holiday houses.
