Abstract [en]

Digitalization is transforming the job market at an unprecedented pace, necessitating a skilledworkforce capable of innovating and adapting in a rapidly evolving professional landscape. Thisshift presents a challenge for education systems to rethink competence-building processes toalign with emerging digital demands. Traditional degree-centric models of education areincreasingly inadequate for addressing the ongoing needs for reskilling and upskilling in theworkforce. This paper explores how higher education can integrate into the fast-paced ecosystemof professional skill development and examines the role of co-design methodology in analyzingthe demand for digital skills in the job market. Through a single-case study, this researchinvestigates how co-design approaches can bridge the gap between the practical needs of the jobmarket and the academic perspectives on future digital competencies. This study addresses acritical research gap by offering insights into effective methodologies for aligning educationalpractices with evolving digital skill requirements.
