Business processes have been introduced in financial applications in order to improve productivity and efficiency, and consists in the management of a set of interrelated tasks involving different partners across different institutions. In this paper, we are concerned with the support of business processes over mobile networks. We focus on the existing limitations of the 2 phase commit protocol, which is at the basis of most popular coordination frameworks for distributed transactions, and propose an extension of it in order to address the constraints imposed by a mobile environment. We describe such extension in detail, and provide a basic algorithm that is needed in order to run it over mobile networks.
