My participation was Artistic Director and conductor.John Cage – few people have meant more to contemporary classical music, to the Avant-garde, to those who shatter artistic barriers, or, in short, to all those who draw refuse to draw a line between art and life. In Cage's world, small, everyday miracles are given equal importance with intricate numerical systems and beautiful graphical scores. Had he lived, he would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2012. And considering his enduring and constant artistic partnership with time and chance, we have chosen to honour this life-giving innovator on his 99th birthday. We let projections, primed pianos and Norrbotten Neo create a pulsing club evening, where music, timing and the audience combine to create the mood. Vocalist David Moss, who has met Cage, guides us through the evening of minute-long everyday observations taken from a collection of short stories entitled Indeterminacy.
