Beställning av Maidstone Wind Symphony, Eynsford Concert Band and Lambeth Wind Orchestra. Maidstone Wind Symphony, Eynsford Concert Band and Lambeth Wind Orchestra have come together with the National Concert Band Symposium to commission composer Jan Sandström to arrange his atmospheric ‘Es ist ein Ros entsprungen’ (“A rose has sprung up”) for concert band.The work, which is approximately 4 minutes in length and is based on Praetorius’ famous carol, is a welcome addition to the concert band repertoire at Christmas time. Sandström originally wrote the work for choir in 1988 and along with his Motorbike Concerto is his most famous work.The piece will be performed by all three bands over the Christmas period.
