Aitik is one of Europes largest open-pit mines, and the copper production 2006 is approximately 18 Mton. Aitik is facing an extensive increase in production capacity; initially from 18 Mton to 28 Mton, and further on with possibilities for an increase to 33 Mton. An increase in production brings on risks and uncertainties that are important to consider. This project aims to map and identify these risks and uncertainties, to quantify them and to analyse their impact on cost and production in a 10-15 year perspective.
