Abstract [en]
This master’s thesis investigates the conceptualization, design, and evaluation of a multi-displacement hydraulic motor intended to enhance the efficiency and adaptability of industrial drive systems. Conducted in collaboration with Hägglunds Drives AB, the project addresses the limitations of fixed-displacement motors in applications requiring high starting torque and variable speed operation. Several design alternatives are explored, with focus on achieving a robust and efficient solution suitable for dynamic displacement adjustment. The work includes detailed analyses such as technical specifications, concept comparisons, system simulations, and environmental assessments. Furthermore, the study examines aspects related to manufacturability, casting feasibility, and potential failure modes, forming a foundation for future prototyping and testing. Due to confidentiality, specific technical solutions and results are not disclosed in this abstract.
