Produktutveckling av vinsch
Luleå University of Technology, Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics. Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB.
2025 (Swedish)Independent thesis Advanced level (professional degree), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

30% of Sweden’s electricity production is derived from nuclear power. To ensure the continued operation of this technology, regular servicing and repair of nuclear facilities is required. Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB is a company specializing in this type of maintenance, which includes the use of a lifting winch for certain equipment. The company’s existing winch is outdated by modern standards, although it includes appreciated features—such as the ability to operate both electrically and manually via a hand crank. The objective of this thesis project has been to develop a new winch that meets the requirements of current standards, incorporates the company’s specifc functional requests, and is prepared for CE marking. The scope of the project has been limited to the mechanical aspects of the winch only. By examining the existing product, conducting interviews and questionnaires with operators, and analyzing applicable standards, a set of requirements and desired features was established and compiled into a Design Compliance Matrix. The result is a basic design of a new winch that integrates the requested functionalities while complying with relevant standards, thereby ensuring the design is prepared for CE certifcation.
