Abstract [en]

This document presents the requirements analysis, specification and preliminary evaluation of the WSAN4CIP dependable protocol stack. The protocol stack considers the following four layers: Application, Transport, Routing and MAC. At the Transport layer, the Distributed Transport for Sensor Networks (DTSN) was selected to support reliable multimedia data transmission. At the Routing layer, the IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low power and Lossy Networks was selected due to its low overhead. At the MAC layer, a multichannel TDMA protocol was selected.Protocol evaluation is based on a mix of analytical studies and computer simulation. The results show that the specified protocols are compliant with the requirements of the EDP and FWA demonstrators defined in D1.1.
